  • Interim Data Report on Project Released

    COLUMBIA, MO 8.10.07---A seventy-five page report on the status of the University of Missouri wind energy study written by authors Dr. Neil Fox, Rachel Redburn, Jose Miranda, Ali Koleiny, and Dr. Anthony Lupo has been released. The report is in the "Project Reports" section on the left side of the page.

    Equipment Installed on Ninth Tower

    LANCASTER, MO 8.10.07---Wind measuring equipment was installed on a tall tower in Lancaster, MO on Monday, August 6th. Data from the tower should be seen on this website in the next few weeks.

    Advancing Renewables in the Midwest Conference Featured in BAMS

    COLUMBIA, MO 8.1.07---The 2006 edition of the "Advancing Renewables in the Midwest" Conference was featured in the July 2007 Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, in which a summary is provided of the meeting. The second edition of the conference happened in March 2007 and was very successful. The meeting's website can be seen here and the BAMS article can be seen here.

    New MU Weather Tower Measures Urban Possibilities of Wind Power

    COLUMBIA, MO 7.13.07---Researchers working for the Wind Energy Study and the joint cooperative for the Center for Atmospheric and Agricultural Experiment Research Organization with Lincoln University recently installed a 10-meter weather tower in Sanborn Field on the MU campus.
